Vern Harris

Vern is a senior housing investor, licensed real estate broker, and entrepreneur with more than 35 years of experience building and scaling independent businesses.

In 2014, Vern turned his focus to real estate—specifically Assisted Living and Memory Care—and has since closed more than 80 transactions totaling over $100 million across Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, and other high-growth markets. He specializes in helping investors, operators, and capital partners acquire, sell, and reposition senior housing assets through creative and bankable strategies.

Vern leads Grand Avenue Business Brokers and serves as an Investment Partner at A Better Way Realty, focusing exclusively on senior housing dealmaking. Whether it’s a stabilized cash-flowing community or a distressed facility in need of a turnaround, he brings hands-on expertise in NNN leases, lease-options, seller-financed structures, and debt–equity packaging that works in today’s market.

He also founded the Denver Association of Assisted Living Residences (DAALR), now the largest ALR network in Colorado with more than 1,200 members. The organization has hosted over 100 events connecting operators, investors, lenders, and thought leaders shaping the future of senior housing.

Vern holds certifications including CSHIP Level 2, CBI, and SRES, and he is passionate about helping others navigate the business of care—whether they are looking to scale, exit, acquire, or raise capital for their next Assisted Living or Memory Care project.
